Elite Edge

The advanced evolution of the mechanical advantage drop set method

For men who’ve already mastered Shredded Steel and are ready for more.

Elite Edge takes the mechanical advantage drop set method into 4-position territory — more leverage changes, more total volume, more demand on your muscular endurance and recovery capacity than the intermediate tier.

Who this is for

Elite Edge is the advanced-tier program for men who have already built a solid foundation — ideally through Shredded Steel or an equivalent intermediate program — and are ready for a harder, more demanding version of the mechanical advantage method. If you can’t yet complete a full intermediate program consistently, start there first.

The Mechanical Advantage Drop Set Method

  1. Choose ONE weight for the whole drop set — a weight you could lift 12–15 reps with (no less than 12, no more than 15) if doing it fresh in your weakest (hardest-leverage) grip, stance, or position.
  2. Start in that weakest position and perform only 6–8 reps — well short of the 12–15 you could actually do there.
  3. Transition to the next position in 10–20 seconds — this is movement time, not rest.
  4. Perform as many reps as possible (AMRAP) in that position, then continue through each remaining position, same weight, always to max reps.
  5. Elite Edge is an ADVANCED-tier program — 4 positions per drop set (vs. 3 for the intermediate tier). This is sustained, extended time-under-tension work — not quick or ballistic movement.
  6. Total reps across all positions typically land well past your normal 12–15 rep max — often in the low-to-high 20s, sometimes approaching 30.
  7. Between sets, expect roughly a 10% weight drop-off, capped at a 20% total drop-off before that exercise’s drop-set portion ends. Rest is typically 2–3 minutes, trimmed by up to ~30 seconds mid-program to force faster recovery.
  8. This is a form of progressive overload that doesn’t require adding weight — you progress by adding sets and trimming rest instead.

What’s inside stays inside

The exact exercises, grips, stances, and position sequences are revealed once you subscribe — not published here. If a position or movement doesn’t work for your body or equipment access, a substitution is always provided.
